Men Adult Acne The primary culprit of male acne is testosterone, NOT poor hygiene as often suspected. A number of factors can cause an increase in sebaceous gland secretions, but the androgen hormones, in particular the analogs of testosterone, dehydrotestotsterone (DHT) and dihydroepiandrosterone (DHEAS), are thought to have the most dramatic impact on sebaceous gland secretions.
Since men naturally have more testosterone related hormones in their bodies, it is more likely that more of the analogs (DHT & DHEAS) may be found circulating freely in the blood, leading to an increased risk of acne. So, if you are a guy with acne, you now know that you have it because guys have more testosterone, and if you really want to get rid of your acne, you must rebalance your body from with-in, not just by using some topical products which only focus on symptoms.

Teen Acne The causes (pathogenesis) of acne vulgaris (common acne) in teens can be attributed to increased sebaceous gland secretions influenced by increasing androgen (male hormones) levels and potential fluctuations in estrogen levels. This applies to both young men and young women during their adolescent years. When clogging of the pores of the skin with excess sebum and dead skin cells (white heads and black heads) is followed by the growth of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes), an inflammatory cascade results, which is a more serious form of acne. To help teens to get clear skin, you need to rebalance their body to help sebaceous glands to come back to a normal activity by treating the cause from within, not just by using topical products that only eliminate symptoms.
